Oh, The goodies we made, and ate!

Greetings All. Mom had a special visitor...Jeff flew in on Tuesday eve to hang out with us for the Thanksgiving holiday. Wednesday, Nov. 26, started with Dawne cooking breakfast for Jeff and her family and then we all met up at mom's place around 11:30ish. Her community was having a Traditional Thanksgiving "lunch" for residents and their families. After the lunch we all scooted to Dawne's to bake pies and assorted cookies for Thanksgiving. You would have thought we were feeding 100 folks, instead of just 10, we had sooooo many dessert goodies. Of course, Dawne aka, Suzie Homemaker, put us all to work. Jeff unwrapped hershey kisses. While he was unwrapping, mom was sneaking & eating them, so when Jeff was done, Dawne physically counted out 48 kisses and set them aside so she would have enough for her cookies. Mom was in charge of making not 1, but 2, pumpkin pies. I was trying a new recipe "Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies", do a search on Food Network. And Dawne was making peanut butter kiss cookies and doing a bazillion other tasks to keep us all focused. We all had a great time and by 6:30 that evening, we were chowing down on pizza! Nicholas stopped by to grab a bite and visit a bit. Honestly, fun was had by all! We dropped mom off at her place about 9pm, and she was pooped, me too! I will post Thanksgiving pix in the next few days. Sweet dreams!

2 THUMBS UP...

Okay, so the 2 non morning girls, me and mom, had to be at the hospital for a follow up sonogram to a previous mammogram at 7:00am. Now, for those of you that have to function on Mondays, I know we will get zero sympathy, but for those of you that don't, you understand. I am typically off on Mondays, so man, 5:30am came to soon! Mom and I, coffee in hand, scooted for the tests. Mom's appointment was 7:20, so we actually are called back on time, have the sonogram and then WAIT. Yep, the doctor that needs to read the images, surprise, is running behind. YAY! So she pops in, does a bit more and wants another mammogram, for more clarity. Sooo, we get that done and go to waiting room and wait again. It was funny, cuz mom kept saying, "we will be back home and in bed by 8". When 8 came and passed, it was "we will be home and in bed by 8:30" and when that came and past, it was "well darn, I'm awake now"! So after waiting a bit the doc popped in and said "Mrs Adelini" we looked up and she gave us 2 thumbs up, all is clear! God is good!
